FANTASY BASEBALL
News: Bumgarner (15-9) allowed eight hits, but he rebounded to allowed just three runs over 7.1 innings to lift San Francisco to a crucial victory over Los Angeles on Friday night. He also struck out five and walked one. (Fri Sep 30)
Spin: With St. Louis already winning, the Giants had to win in order to stay one game ahead of the Cardinals. Bumgarner yielded two runs in the first, but he basically shut the door from there, allowing just five more base runners over the final six frames. Bumgarner will now prepare for either the NL Wild Card or a playoff tiebreaker, which he surely will start should the Giants make it. He finishes the regular season with a 2.74 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 251 strikeouts over 226.2 innings.
